The week to August 15, 2026

Six days of sweeps and the same shelf keeps restocking itself: Minecraft clones, Sudoku, Puzzle Bobble, rock-paper-scissors, another Pokémon tower defense. Clones are expected — the odd part is the non-games filing themselves under "browser game." JSON-to-filesystem converters turned up four days out of six, which suggests one popular tutorial rather than four independent decisions. Then the aim-assist and farming scripts, which describe themselves as games because that's the category their victims browse.

The genuine finds this week had almost nothing in common except being hosted on GitHub Pages at zero stars, which is less a pattern than a description of where nobody looks. A few links pointed at blog posts about making games, or a YouTube video of one. Writing about the thing is easier than shipping it, and both are easier than being findable afterward.
