Willed Chess bolts a 'will' system onto the standard game: each piece carries its own personality, morale, loyalty and fear, so an order is a request the piece may or may not honour depending on how the battle is going. Whether that makes for a deeper game or a maddening one is the open question, but it is a real idea, sitting at zero stars on a Netlify URL.
